What is the best sales deal you have done?
Nasheej, who cost about $40,000 at the Keeneland January Sale. Tony Lacy, who looks after my US bloodstock, went through the pedigree with me. Nasheej is by Swain out of a Kingmambo mare, and her pedigree suggested she might be best suited to race in England.

After a few years working with Arqana, I would strongly recommend Tony as he is very discreet, reliable, independent and an excellent horseman.
His reporting skills are second to none and he has been wonderful to assist all our American clients to come to France in general and to Deauville in particular.

Tony came to my attention through my trainer, Tom Proctor. After meeting with Tony and spending a great deal of time discussing our specific goals and getting to understand his abilities, his ethical approach and enduring passion for the Thoroughbred, we engaged Tony to work the European private marketplace on our behalf. Communication is always timely, the due diligence from his team is extremely thorough and most importantly, Tony has the ability to move very quickly when he sees opportunity.
Our first import from Ireland, Bobbi Grace, is multiple stakes placed at Santa Anita and most importantly, is a genuine filly with wonderful upside. Tony is a valued and trusted member of our team.

A good bloodstock agent should possess a high level of personal integrity, have a vast knowledge of our industry, be ethical, be honest, and be caring. Tony Lacy, in my opinion all one and the same.

I was introduced to Tony Lacy by a common friend about 8 years ago with the remark ”He is one of the people you can count on as a friend and a business associate.” Coming from a trusted friend who is a very picky and rather difficult man in his own right, I took that advice seriously and was he right!!! Tony Lacy proved himself a good friend for several years without any effort to gain anything professionally. And when I decided to buy Pleasantly Perfect it was a very easy choice whom to use as our agent. In our dealings Tony was always very professional, straightforward and very valuable with his dealings with the other party on our behalf and his advice about how to approach the situation. It has been a long and difficult process and without Tony’s guidance I am not sure if we could have closed the deal. I can easily say that it was a pleasure to work with a capable, efficient and trustworthy agent. I don’t think we could have found a better man for the job.
